Five-ish people talking about Freddie Mercury:
He was so gay.
What?
Yeah, Freddy Mercury was, like the gayest guy ever.
What? Yeah, he was like the king of the gays.
A lot of people don’t even know that. He’s the biggest argument against anti-gays ever. “Gay people shouldn’t get married.” “Oh, really? Freddie Mercury. Boom!”
…I’m not entirely sure what to make of this…
LGBT Laughs: The Little Mermaid: A Gay Love Letter
DID YOU KNOW:
The Little Mermaid was written as a love letter by Hans Christian Anderson to Edvard Collin. Anderson, upon hearing of Collin’s engagement to a young woman, proclaimed his love to him. He told him ”I long for you as though you were a beautiful…
I'm not homophobic, but...: Reblog if you think the next disney prince should be GAY.
4 million and counting
5 million
This should get to 10 million, come on people.
No, guys seriously. I’m not a homophobic. Hell, I love gay people but this is just stupid. Disney movies are based off the original fairytales and there are no gay princesses in the fairytales. Also, even though society is getting more accustomed to the LGBT community, a children’s movie is going to start a worldwide riot. Besides, because of the world today, every single LGBT person has to face some kind of adversity and struggle and that wouldn’t fit into a Disney movie. We want to try and make the world a better place and it would teach kids early on that if their different, they’ll get in trouble for it. And they shouldn’t think like that. A kid should be allowed to be who they want and when they’re young, they shouldn’t have who they are or their dreams crushed because they’re scared of the consequences. Make a teenage romance movie about a gay princess or a Nicholas Sparks movie. But leave the children alone. Let them hope and dream and think everything is all rainbows and butterflies for every single person for a few years until they have to face the hard reality of the world.
Disney movies are based on lots of things. You have one from a story in China, you have about a girl in the US trying to live the American dream, we have a girl from Scotland now.
It will teach kids that if they’re different, they’ll get in trouble for it? Mulan risked the death penalty to protect her family because she couldn’t be the stay-at-home wife her family wanted. Ariel was punished because she was adventurous and wanted to explore the world and her parents thought that was dangerous. Cinderella wasn’t part of the family and wasn’t like her step-sisters and so she was emotionally abused. Belle liked reading and exploring ideas and the village thought she was weird and being smart wasn’t something for girls. Pocahontas dared to get to know strangers before immediately judging them just because they were different and suffered the consequences. Hercules never belonged because he was too strong, so he was too different, and people thought he wasn’t meant to live in normal society.
These movies are aimed at children who feel different, because let’s face it, we all do at some point, and tries to teach them that they need to be themselves in spite of the world because we have to be true to ourselves.
And you think LGBTQ children don’t need that?
